Bay Area composer, cellist, and vocalist Theresa Wong reimagines artworks in the museum’s collection through the medium of sound with three site-specific performances of newly composed and improvised work. Wong draws from conversations about identity and multiculturalism to respond to Carlos Villa: Worlds in Collision, the first major museum retrospective dedicated to the work of a Filipino American artist. For this performance with cello and voice, she will create a visual score to draw out a personal musical language drawn from images, sounds, and stories.
