Pamela Z presents “Simultaneous”, an intermedia performance work exploring the concept of simultaneity, through voice, electronic processing, chamber ensemble (Kyle Bruckmann: English horn, Charlton Lee: viola, Theresa Wong: cello, and Kjell Nordeson: percussion), speech samples, gesture control, and projected video. This work is the culmination Z’s Rome Prize project which began in 2019, has had iterations in the forms of a multi-channel sound installation and a fixed media radio work, but stopped short of being presented as a performance work, because of the pandemic’s interruption of her fellowship year. Now, the work will reach its fruition with the full evening performance work that was originally proposed.
