Voices of Women in Medieval to Modern Song

This evening includes a work-in-progress performance of a new piece, To Burst To Bloom, commissioned by Vajra Voices. The work is a collection of songs setting the poems of 12th Century Taoist Immortal Sun Bu'er. Drawing on these ancient texts on inner alchemy, the songs explore the fluid interplay of abstract vocal utterances with language and meaning.
